Pagoda and to the downtown area where you can find colonial
buildings and witness the daily activities of the local people.
At 17:30 p.m. transfer to Central Railway Station; overnight
train to Mandalay at 18:30 p.m.(reclining seats).
DAY
3: Mandalay
Morning arrival in Mandalay. Transfer to the hotel. Sightseeing
includes visits of Arts and Crafts Center such as marble cutting,
woodcarving, jade grinding and gold-leaf making. Continue
to Mahamuni Pagoda. Afternoon sightseeing: Shwenandaw Monastery,
noted for its exquisite wood carvings; Atumashi Monastery
(Incomparable Monastery) and Kuthodaw Pagoda, known as 'The
World's Biggest Book' for its stone slabs of Buddhist scriptures;
finally climb Mandalay Hill for the sunset. Overnight at hotel.
DAY
4: Mandalay - Minngun - Sagaing - Mandalay
Approximately 07:30 a.m. drive to the jetty and cross
the Ayeyarwaddy River (appr. 1 hr). Excursion to Mingun, noted
for its huge unfinished pagoda and the enormous "Mingun Bell",
the largest ringing bell in the world. Back to Mandalay by
boat and drive over Ava Bridge to Sagaing, 21km southwest
of Mandalay, to visit Kaunghmudaw Pagoda, an enormous dome-shaped
pagoda. Visit silversmith home industry and proceed to Sagaing
Hills, a retreat for Buddhist devotees with numerous pagodas
and monasteries. Sunset at U Bein Bridge in Amarapura and
come back to Mandalay. Overnight at hotel.
DAY
5: - Mandalay - Bagan (by express boat/ETD: 6 a.m. eta: 5
p.m.)
After a day river cruise on the mighty Ayeyarwaddy River
you reach Bagan. Thousands of decaying pagodas rise majestically
from the plains a create a timeless scene, saluting a glorious
past. On arrival transfer to hotel.
DAY
6: Bagan
After breakfast enjoy the whole day at the most extensive
archeological site in Asia. Bagan has over 5,000 temples and
pagodas of various sizes in varying status of repair spread
across the plains. Some you can walk to, others are best visited
by bicycle or local pony cart. Overnight at hotel.
DAY
7: Bagan - Inle Lake (by air-con bus)
After breakfast drive to Nyaung Shwe (appr. 7 hrs). On
the way you can visit Meiktila Lake and the villages along
the way to see how hilltribes in Myanmar live and to witness
their daily activities. On arrival at Nyaung Shwe transfer
to hotel.
DAY
8: Inle Lake
After breakfast full-day excursion on Inle Lake (25 km);
view the famous "One leg rowers", typical floating gardens,
local fishing methods and witness the village life. Continue
visit to Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda. After lunch proceed to the
weaving village of In Phaw Khon and on the way back visit
Nga Phechaung Monastery, cheroot making home industry and
then return to Nyaung Shwe. Overnight at hotel.
DAY
9: Naung Shwe - Heho - Yangon (by Yangon Airways)
After breakfast drive to Heho airport for the flight back
to Yangon by Yangon Airways. Upon arrival transfer to hotel;
day at your leisure.
DAY
10: Yangon/Departure day
After breakfast transfer to airport for the flight back
to Bangkok.
