Day 1: Mandalay-Irrawaddy Cruise (L, D)

Transfer to the jetty in Mandalay and board the RV Pandaw III. The boat departs at noon on an unforgettable three day cruise on the Irrawaddy River up to Mandalay. The RV Pandaw III is a newly built vessel in the original style of the Pandaw I, a river steamer built in 1947 in Scotland for the old Irrawaddy Flotilla Company. Retaining many original features, the RV Pandaw III has been furnished in classic colonial style with teak steamer chairs and rattan lounges. Open decks are conceived as an extension of the cabin space. The large, comfortable teak furnished double-bedded cabins now have the luxury of air-conditioning and a shower room. As it sails downstream the steamer offers passengers a fascinating view of life on the river. Overnight on board.
