Myintkyina

The largest city in Kachin State has always been a trading center between Myanmar and China. It makes an ideal base from where to visit rear by villages, Jade mining centers, the magnificent Indawgyi lake. Karainnaw village, Kyaw Bon Hill and the junction of two steams Makha and Maelikha it is the birthplace of majestic Irrawaddy. One may see the seven minor ethnic groups named Jinppaw, Maru, Azi, Lashi, Lisu and Rawang. The Manau is famous folk dances of the Kachin. Manau festival holds on 10 January in Myintkyina is one of the most engaging.
