What's in a Name
Myanmar name have a life of their own and it is impossible to tell much about a person from their name. Family name are not used so the normal identifying mechanism is not there. Women retain their own name after marriage, rather than take on the husband's name as happens so frequently in the west, Boys and Girls, men and women may all have the same name-there is no Bill or Joan, Peter or Mary as names are named after more esoteric subjects, like the day of the week the person was born, flowers or descriptive adjectives.
