Tha-Nat-Kha , Myanmar makeup
The
rather unusual makeup worn by both male and female Myanmar folk
is known as Tha-Nat-Kha powder produced from an aromatic tree
bark, with the botanical name of mureaexotica. Applied in all
kinds of artistic forms, in stripes, circles, bars and dots,
large and small, it acts as both a makeup and a skincare product.
It is believed to condition the skin and protect it from sunburn.
For a Myanmar person, it is almost unthinkable to leave home
without it. Tha-Nat-Kha comes in small creamy-yellow cakes,
sold in small shops and at the markets. It varies in quality
and a good one in silky smooth, mixing easily with water and
applied smoothly to the skin.
